CENTER FOR APPLIED COMMUNICATIONS
The Center for applied communications of the Banja Luka College of Communications Kappa Phi is the place where knowledge and profession meet, theory and practice converge. In several different units, we conduct communication research and create and implement public relations solutions. The center also offers classes in continuing education and English. Publica Do you ever wonder whether others actually hear what you say? Unfortunately, they often don't, especially in different countries, for cultural knowledge is essential in communicating interculturally. In intercultural communication, communication itself is a culture - culture of effective communication. And we belong to that culture, which here, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, means a great deal of culture. Thus we will hear you. And then others may hear you as well. Publica is a public relations agency that works under the auspices of the College. Our mission is to offer innovative solutions in dynamic and successful public relations that draw upon our knowledge and research resources, understanding of local culture and close relationship with our clients. Our services include media relations (press clipping and analysis, press releases and other press copy, press conferences and media events, as well as training for media appearances), event management (formal openings, cocktails, conferences, seminars, anniversaries and other special occasions), analysis and redesign of client’s publications, strategic public relations (solutions in corporate and political communication, survey and focus-group research, communication campaigns, crisis management), lobbying, and continuing education in public relations, business communication, and English. We also rent out instructional facilities and video-equipment. How we work Once you let us know your needs we determine whether we can help you. If we can, we explain why. After entering a contract which details terms of service, we begin working with you for a timely and successful competition of your project. Research We conduct public opinion research of scholarly quality. We carry out all phases of research – from sampling and questionnaire design to data collection, processing and analysis. We also offer qualitative types of research such as focus groups. Continuing educations We organize courses and workshops in hands-on public relations, business communication, and English. Please email us at publica @kfbl.edu.ba for inquiries. Language Centre In our language centre we offer standardized courses in English and intercultural communication. The courses are taught by qualified lecturers in small groups and in an excellent academic environment. The centre also offers translation services. The standard bi-semestral courses that we offer are General English, levels B2 and C1, and Business English, levels B1 and B2.
